Rested. Creative. And a little weird.

Christmas & New Year 25/26

The longest time off I’ve had in nearly a decade, and the most needed (and no, mat leave doesn't count!)

Two weeks. No meticulous planning. No phone glued to my hand. No being pulled from one thing to the next.

Just space.
To slow down.
To celebrate my daughter’s 4th birthday.
To cook, meditate, laugh, and breathe.
To connect. Really connect. With family, with friends, and with myself.

And something surprising happened:
My resting heart rate dropped.
My mind opened up.
Ideas started flowing.
Perspective returned.

I deleted social media apps. I reclaimed my doomscrolling time.
I started reading more. Daydreaming again. Thinking bigger.
It reminded me that creativity and clarity don’t come from the grind. They come from space.

As a creative and a mother, I know the feeling of burnout all too well.
Motherly’s 2021 survey found that 75% of moms didn’t feel like themselves until at least a year postpartum, and many said 3 to 5 years.

For me, it’s taken 4.

But “feeling like myself” isn’t about going back. It’s about becoming more.
More grounded.
More emotionally balanced.
More connected to who I am beyond 'mama'.
More honest about what really lights me up.

And that’s the version I’m bringing into this new year.
Rested. Creative. And a little weird.
Big plans ahead, and I’m walking into them with play, purpose, and presence.

A huge thank you to everyone I work with. My work is so tied into my identity, and I genuinely value each and every connection I have and the perspectives you bring. You help shape the way I think, create, and grow. I’m excited for more collaboration, more creativity, and more meaningful work together in 2026.
